8: Visualizing Your Win

episode-8-featured-imageVisualizing your win is a powerful exercise to believing you are suited to win the pageant. If you can watch yourself winning, you are far more likely to believe deep enough to actual take the crown.

One of my pet peeves is the shocked pageant winner. The girl who is stunned that she was chosen. As a judge that makes me regret my decision as though she never expected it in the first place, so how prepared can she really be.

If your goal is to win, you have to know what to expect, and you won’t be shocked when it happens.

For your comparison sake (and personal entertainment), take a look at the two videos below of crowning moments – you’ll have a better idea of how you’d like to respond to being crowned.

Most Overreacting Crowning Moment

I recommend you do this in a comfortable spot (not driving or operating heavy machinery). Be cozied into a chair or laying down. Close your eyes and use your mind’s eye to guide you through the entire pageant experience. Feel the emotions and see yourself performing each phase of competition all the way through the announcement of the top five and your name as the ultimate winner. Imagine how it will fell and how you will react.

Do this visualization, whether it’s guided with my voice or in your own mind several times, if not daily, leading up to your pageant. Especially during pageant week.

Because, that, ladies is how you win a pageant.
